SANTA CLARA — Brock Purdy scampered into Levi’s Stadium’s open field, cut back inside, and, with his competitive juices in regular-season mode, sought out the goal line.He didn’t make it into the end zone.He emerged unscathed, however, from that 8-yard scramble to the 2-yard line, which capped his nine-snap cameo in Saturday night’s 21-20 preseason win over Denver. It was Purdy’s first game since tearing an elbow ligament in last season’s NFC Championship loss.“Once he cut back inside, I was just begging for him to get down,” coach Kyle Shanahan said Sunday on a media conference call.San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (13) looks to pass against the Denver Broncos in the first quarter of a NFL preseason game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023. We just got hit with an earthquake too,” tweeted Markeia McCarty, a Los Angeles-based actress. “Remember us after we break off into ocean.”Dr. Lucy Jones, ...

CASTLE PINES, Colo. (KDVR) -- Firefighter crews at South Metro Fire Rescue Station 39 are on standby and ready to go for a Red Flag Warning Sunday. “We have low humidity, high temperatures and gusty winds, which can make lands more vulnerable for fires," Eric Hurst, the PIO South Metro Fire Rescue said Sunday. Hot days ahead can increase fire danger with dry vegetation Hurst said Sunday's Red Flag Warning day was the first they've had in a while. He believed the last time they had one in their district was in the spring earlier this year.“We’ve had record-breaking rainfall and a lot of the area looks green, so it might be a surprise there is a Red Flag Warning today," Hurst said. "But the weather and the climate are two different things when it comes to wildfires." On days with high fire danger, Hurst said they respond to calls with more resources than normal. “On a normal day, if there is a small brush fire we send two engines, but on a day like today, we send six engines becaus...
