Don’t put the snow shovels in storage just yet.As the National Weather Service Twin Cities said in a tweet: “Thought winter was over? Think again.”“Put the short sleeve shirts away. Put the patio chairs back in. Grab winter coat from the back of the closet. Get the snow shovel back out. How much of that will stick depends on how fast the snow is falling on the warmer temperature ground this time of year, according to a tweet from the NWS.With a high of 45 and a low of 20, temperatures are a far cry from the 80s seen last week. Monday will be cloudy and breezy and slightly warmer with possible high of 50, the weather service said.A winter weather advisory is in effect from midnight to 10 p.m. Sund...

Members of the Hillside Villa Tenant Association camped out in front of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ mansion on Friday night and are planning to remain there all day on Saturday until their demands are met. 124 families at Hillside Villa in Chinatown are facing housing uncertainties after L.A.’s COVID-era eviction moratorium expired at the end of March. Tenants, some of whom are still dealing with pandemic-related income loss, are facing a 300% rent hike and an inundation of eviction notices. “We got five three-day notices last month alone,” said Alfredo Espinoza, who has lived at Hillside Villa for over 25 years. “As the tenants and families of Hillside Villa, we stayed the night in front of the Mayor’s Mansion, and we start day two out here to show that we are not going to let the city’s inaction put us on the streets.” Residents are imploring the Los Angeles Housing Department to follow through with their plan to appraise and make an offer on the building. A’s Shintaro Fujinami delivers best outing, not good enough for historic win

OAKLAND – The way Shintaro Fujinami was dealing, he put himself in line for first his first major league win Saturday, and the first ever by a Japanese-born starting pitcher in A’s history.Alas, that will have to wait for another day.Instead, Fujinami’s best outing of his three-start career left him with his third loss, a typical result in this staggering start to the A’s season. They’ve now lost 12 of 15 games following Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to the New York Mets before 12,967 fans at the Coliseum.Fujinama’s line: six-plus innings, four hits, two runs, two walks, and five strikeouts on 92 pitches, those latter two categories behind career highs.A’s manager Mark Kotsay entered Saturday’s game seeking six innings from Fujinami, and that barely happened, once the 29-year-old right-hander induced three consecutive groundouts to reach the seventh with a 2-1 lead. But Fujinami opened the seventh by surrendering his second solo home run of the day, this one to former AR...
