MARTINEZ — The Contra Costa County health department’s hazardous-materials crew responded to a report of a spill at the train station that led to its closure for several hours Monday, authorities said.In social-media posts Monday afternoon, a department-affiliated account shared word of the station’s closure, saying train passengers would board and disembark at Ferry Street, near a road crossing by the old station depot nearby.Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to an investigation in the 600 block of Marina Vista shortly before 3:05 p.m. with two engines, a battalion chief and other hazmat related equipment.In related social-media posts, Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor said shortly before 5:45 p.m. that riders would make transfers at the line’s Stockton and Sacramento stations.There were no immediate reports of injuries, or the exact circumstances that led to the station closure. PALO ALTO – A 58-year-old massage therapist has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a client last month in Palo Alto, police said.The victim, a woman in her 20s, reported the sexual assault to authorities on April 17, the Palo Alto Police Department said in a statement Monday. She said her masseur had assaulted her April 15 at LaBelle Day Spa & Salon at 855 El Camino Real.Police said an investigation confirmed the masseur had assaulted the woman during an appointment.The victim was not physically injured, police said.Detectives submitted the case to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, which in turn filed one felony count of forcible oral copulation against the suspect, police said.On May 2, a judge signed a warrant for the suspect’s arrest. (KRON) -- A bicyclist was killed Sunday night after a collision involving a vehicle, the Hayward Police Department said in a press release. The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near Tennyson Road, east of the I-880 offramp.The bicyclist, a 29-year-old Hayward man, died at the scene from his injuries due to the collision. This is the fifth fatal collision in Hayward for 2023, according to the press release. The driver is a 27-year-old man. He stayed on scene and cooperative with the investigation, the release said.
